The complete register of Bulgaria's public sports facilities — free to download and free to use through a documented API. No fee, no approval, and no registration to read.

API

Documented and versioned. The addresses under /api/opendata/v1 do not change without a new version — unlike the feeds that serve our own map.

Without a key

The API answers without a key. The data is public — requiring registration to read public data would be a contradiction.

With a key

A key raises the limit and nothing else. It is sent in the Authorization header only; a key in the query string ends up in every log along the way, so it is not accepted as a parameter.

Get a free key

Soft limits

30 requests per minute without a key, 300 with one. Every response carries RateLimit headers so you can slow down before being refused. Going over returns 429 and points at the bulk dumps — never a ban, and never a revoked key.

The nightly dumps are not rate limited at all.

Parameters

format — one of the dataset's formats; defaults to the first.
limit — maximum rows. Without it the whole dataset is returned, up to a safety cap.

Facilities

The complete public register: one point per facility, with sports, surface, lighting, access, provenance and the latest reported condition. It contains exactly what a visitor sees on the map — not one row more.

`slug`	string	Stable public identifier; the same one that appears in the facility page's address.
`name`	string	Facility name, where it has one.
`sports`	enum_list	Sports, separated by semicolons.
`surface`	enum	Playing surface.

`covered`	boolean	Covered facility.
`access`	enum	Access: free, paid, restricted or school.

Nightly dumps

Every night the whole register is written out again under a version — the civil date in Sofia. Old versions stay put, so a figure cited from a particular version can still be checked later.

The last 30 versions are kept. If you need a version indefinitely, keep your own copy — the checksum proves it is ours.
